Initially the Move Camera scanning is selected.
The model remains stationary and you move the camera around the model to perform the scan.
Change to the Model Rotate scan type by tapping on the scan animation.

After selecting "Begin Scanning", the live camera view appears.

Center Model in Virtual Scan Box

Tap live display to focus on an Model. Tap "Continue" to show the enclosing box. Lower left "?" button provides Help. Lower right cube button toggles scan area between: Cube only scans Model Dotted circle scans an area around the Model.

Enclosing box has wider white handles. Tap and drag handles to resize enclosing box to include entire model. Bottom left return button returns to initial view where you focus your model. Bottom right eye symbol indicates Model detected. Bottom right eye with slash symbol indicates Model not detected.

Tap "Start Capture" to begin active scanning.

Scan Model

Make three trips around the model for best results.
First move around the model with camera level with model.
The scanner will indicate when it has enough photos.
In the next scan, hold the camera higher and pointing down at the model.
Again the scanner will indicate when it has enough photos.
If the model can be laid on its side, lay model on side to expose the bottom.
Perform a third scan to capture the bottom of the model.

After selecting "Begin Scanning", the live camera view appears.

Scan an object

Tap the live camera display to focus on an object.
Click the photo capture button to take a single photo in "M" manual mode.
The first time you tap the photo capture button to take a picture,
you are prompted to name this scanning session.

Record Session

By default the session is in Manual. Each click of the photo button will record one image.
Tap the "M" button to toggle to "A" for automatic mode. In automatic mode, one photo will be taken every few seconds.
Continue photos until there is at least one complete circle around the object. Experiment with the number of photos, 50 or more may be required for one rotation.

A small automatic turntable with a remote control and a tripod to hold the iPhone/iPad will produce the best result.
Trigger the turntable using the remote after you hear each click of the camera.
The more photos the better the result. Two or more complete rotations create a good model.
Diffuse lighting without bright reflections works best.

If the object has few distinctive features, try putting scanner reflector dots on the turn table in unique configurations. This will give the scanner unique clues for aligning all the photos.

To scan the bottom of an object, do all sides first.
Then lay the object on its side with bottom toward the camera but in the same relative orientation from the last photo.
Continue photos with another 360 set of photos.
Normally the last bottom set of photos will require fewer photos in one rotation.

• Selecting the session button on the bottom left in the Main View
  Tap + and enter a session name.
  You are returned to the main view.
  Tap the round "Take Photo" button to start capturing your 3D object.
• Tap the round "Take Photo" button in bottom center of the main view.
  The first tap after starting the app will bring up the session name input.
  Enter a session name.
  You are returned to the main view.
  Tap the round "Take Photo" button to start capturing your 3D object.
  

If you use the name of a prior session, that prior session is deleted.

To add photos to a prior session, make two sessions and move the two folders to a Mac or iPad.

Then combine the two folders into one folder and use the Modeleя to create a high resolution USDZ model.
